One of the primary goals of Somerset Woods Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is prevent re-hospitalizations of our residents. The residents in our care are already in a compromised state of health, and hospital confinement can lead to harmful exposure to secondary infections, as well as adding to the stress of our residents and their families.
Telemedicine provides a way for our physicians to treat residents at all hours without having to send them to the emergency room. Rather than subject our residents to long waits at the hospital, the technology of telemedicine allows for immediate diagnosis by a doctor. This includes late nights, weekends, and holidays. The Telemedicine doctor can then begin treatment of conditions without ever having to send the resident out of the facility.

Somerset Woods’ professional and trained staff create an ongoing program of stimulating and engaging activities for all of our residents. Each resident is individually assessed to determine which programs are suitable, and more importantly, what activities are most enjoyable for them.
Each day brings new and different types of activities and events for our residents, and a wide variety of programs catering to different levels of both physical and cognitive abilities are always available. Our dedicated staff engages the residents with the focus on keeping both body and mind active.
Additionally, Somerset Woods enlists the services of talented entertainers who come regularly to the facility to perform live. These performances enrich the lives of our residents, creating new memories to treasure.

Somerset Woods provides a dining experience on par with your favorite restaurants. Sumptuous cuisine is meticulously planned and prepared so that not only are they nutritious, but their taste will satisfy even the most discerning of palates.
The presentation of the meals along with the restaurant-style service in our beautiful dining rooms create an atmosphere where the residents truly feel that they are “eating out” in style. Alternatively, we have smaller dining venues for those occasions when a resident may want to eat with their family members or a smaller group.
All of our meals are prepared for each individual resident under the guidance of a licensed dietician. A dietitian reviews the nutritional status of each resident paying attention to their individual age, health status, and food preferences to determine their optimal diet. This ensures that each resident’s specific dietary needs and preferences are met.
